Motor City Pride kicks off with MikeQ at the controls
June 7, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.
MikeQ (Fade To Mind|Qween Beat|Mad Decent), is one of the leading figures of the long-running (but still largely underground) ballroom/vogue-house culture.
Based in New Jersey, the 27-year-old producer is not only one busy DJs, but he also heads up his own Qween Beat label and turns out a steady stream of vogue and ballroom tracks, re-edits, and remixes.
Thanks to Wink Detroit and Datswotsup! Q is in town this Friday, June 7 to kickoff the countdown to Motor City Pride. It’s at the Works, with more DJs, from 10 p.m. until the sun comes up Saturday. Make that 5 a.m.
The Works is 1846 Michigan Ave. in Corktown.
