"These Alebrijes are made from different car parts tying up our relationship with Detroit and our long-time contributions as a Latino community to the Motor City,” says artist Elton Monroy Durán.
Opening doors, bridging connections and walking entrepreneurs through the litany of permits, regulations, and licensing, Southwest Detroit Business Association supports small business owners in their quest to succeed.

"There are a lot of youth in Southwest Detroit that need leadership development," says Fabiola Venegas. "The space is like a second home to them. It helps them feel like, 'Yes, you can get an education after high school. Or, yes, you can do something outside for the community, like the garden."
