London drum ‘n’ bass ace Ed Rush drops in at the Works

The Works

March 14, 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.

Ed Rush (and his Virus label collaborator Orbital) has been one of the leaders of the current new school drum and bass since the 1990s. Their first release was “Medicine/Punchbag,” two tracks marked with technically precise drum programming along with a distorted, low, and crunchy bass line. Their breakthrough EP, Wormhole in 1998, was released to critical and underground acclaim.

Rush and Optical more recently released another genre-defining EP, the Creeps.

It’s just Rush this week at the Works, kids, which is more than ain’t half bad. Highly recommended for all fans of electronic dance music. With Kenneth K.L.A.S. and bass resident DJs Matt Clarke and Calico.

It’s $10 before 11 p.m., $15 after. The party is open all 18 and over with ID. The Works is at 1846 Michigan Ave. in Corktown.
