State Support Enables Renovation of Park Shelton Apartments in Midtown Detroit

Redevelopment project expected to generate more than $10.7 million in private investment and create 100 new jobs.

“…Park Shelton Associates Limited Partnership & Affiliates, in partnership with Kirby Parking Structure LLC, will use a $1 million brownfield Single Business Tax credit with its own investment of $10.7 million to help transform the structurally blighted building on the corner of Kirby and Woodward into 220 market-rate condominiums and revamped commercial space. A new parking garage will be built next to the building”, says the article.

With the University Cultural Center Association recently receving a $100,000 Cool Cities Grant to transform vacant property on the corner of Woodward and West Willis into a mixed-use commercial and residential development, The Park Shelton is one of several projects planned to revitalize Midtown.
