Excerpts from the article:

Tech heads from around the country gathered at Compuware on Thursday (Oct. 6) to participate in the largest tech conference in the Midwest. The daylong event is one way to generate buzz about Michigan’s tech sector and a key marketing strategy for the Detroit-based software company.

In its second year, the conference was expected to draw more than 1,200 participants, including representatives from GM, the State of Michigan and Campbell-Ewald. It has also attracted sponsorship from Hewlett Packard and Microsoft Corp.

While the conference also tries to reach a broader audience by talking about security and team building and enlisting entertainment, it continues Compuware’s strategy to use tech conferences as a marketing tool.
