Vision IT hires 50 in last year as revenues continues to increase

Vision IT has watched the staff at its New Center headquarters grow by dozens as its revenue numbers have increased by tens of millions of dollars.

The 15-year-old IT firm has grown its revenue from $230 million in 2010 to $245 million last year. That allowed it to hire 50 people in 2011, including a few new members to its executive team. The company now employs 975 people worldwide at its offices in the U.S., India and Mexico. That number includes 300 people in Detroit and another 15 interns from Detroit Public Schools, Wayne State University and the University of Michigan.

"We'll definitely see another wave of growth," says David Segura, CEO of Vision IT. He expects his firm to continue growing its revenue in 2012 and its staff as a result. "There are many opportunities that are available in our organization." Segura says. "It will be north of 50. It will be closer to 100."

Vision IT has been handling IT services in Detroit during its entire existence. It is now taking advantage of the on-shoring trend in Detroit. A number of IT firms have been taking advantage of Detroit's low cost of doing business and skilled workforce to onshore IT jobs that had previously been sent overseas.
