Peoplemovers aims to become go-to social network for region's orgs

Keith Zendler sees great potential in Metro Detroit, especially when it comes to the region working together more often and effectively. In fact, he sees his social media start-up, Peoplemovers, playing a key part of that.

The TechTown-based firm has created a social network where local organizations and businesses can share information, interact and collaborate. Zendler, the company's founder, sees the three-year process to get it this far as about to come to fruition this year, he recently announced that the site membership is approaching 1,000 local organizations and growing.

"The main thing is just getting the word out now," says Keith Zendler, CEO of Peoplemovers. "For the past three years we have been under the radar, building the platform and momentum."

Peoplemovers offers a range of features that help organizations connect with their constituents and customers. The idea is to solicit and identify volunteer opportunities, generate awareness for community events, and build support for initiatives, among other reasons.

"This is an ongoing campaign to bring Detroit together," Zendler says.
