United Way Southeastern Michigan is taking donations online at
http://www.onewaytohelp.org.
The group is trying to raise funds to earn a $10,000 matching grant as
its Torch Drive fundraising campaign wraps up for 2006.
Spokesperson
Megan Bracket says the organization will continue taking donations
after the Nov. 15 deadline, "and they will be matched assuming we
haven't hit that $10,000 mark yet."
Also, with your donation of $10 or more, United Way will send you the Together, We Matter! wristband.
Your contribution is used to tackle some of the most pressing
issues the region faces. Whether it’s teaching a child to read,
providing food for a family, helping individuals and families be
self-sufficient, or convening volunteers and community partners to
address issues such as joblessness, access to services or education
