Detroit ArtScape creates even more fun at River Days
June 22-24, various
Detroit River ArtScape will take place during the Detroit River Days Festival June 22 through 24, and features an art competition patterned after the famous Grand Rapids Art Prize. In the first year, between ten and fifteen artists are being selected to showcase art and win cash prizes totaling more than $15,000. The art showcase will take place from the Detroit Port Authority to Rivard Plaza with at least two artists being featured in the General Motors Wintergarden.
The purpose of Detroit River ArtScape is to promote arts and culture in Detroit and showcase the Detroit Riverfront, and eventually, other key downtown Detroit venues. In addition, the new attraction is also intended to raise the quality of programming and culture at River Days, as well as to promote the Arts to the Metro Detroit community.
And that’s not all. There will live bands, great food, a day devoted to cycling, a chance to bring your dog to the the Riverfront (yes, River Days is pet friendly) and much more.
