Come celebrate our first year of telling the story of Detroit's transformation.
We'll take over
Campus Martius Park downtown starting at 5 p.m. Friday, June 23.
The party is also part of first Fourth Friday celebration, to be held each month in the park.
From 5-7 p.m., Model D brings
Odu Afrobeat Orchestra and Detroit DJs
Liz Copeland (of WDET) and Clark Warner to the Campus Martius stage. They will be followed by the Fourth Friday headliner, the
Chicago Blues Reunion, at 7 p.m.
The free party also will feature food vendors, plus live broadcasts from
WWJ radio.
The Fourth Friday event starts at 11 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the
Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting a Doors Open Detroit attractions fair, featuring places to visit and things to do in the city.
From 5-7 p.m,
City Living Detroit is hosting a City Living fair, showcasing lofts, condos, apartments and city neighborhoods.
Starting at noon, the
Edgewise artist collective will fill the empty windows along Woodward Avenue between Campus Martius and Grand Circus Park with an art exhibit. Woodward Avenue will temporarily become the Avenue of the Arts.
An afterglow party follows at
Cliff Bells on Park Avenue, co-hosted by Model D and
Edgewise, with a meet and greet for the artists and live jazz music.
$5 cover. 21+ are welcome.
