Winter weather doesn’t stop Detroiters from going to parade

Parade-goers lined Woodward to see the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade despite the sudden blast of winter weather.

Parade-goers bundled up in heavy clothes and sipped steaming drinks along Woodward Avenue to witness a procession that culminated in the annual arrival of Santa Claus to the Motor City.

After the fall’s first snow greeted the city the previous day, the parade took place under sunny skies. Floats, marching bands, the Radio City Rockettes, clowns, horses, pop singer Ryan Cabrera and storybook characters were among the attractions.
