Left Bank Creative graduates from DC3 with bigger staff, client list

A year ago, Todd Ridley was one of the first members of the initial class of the Creative Venture program at the Detroit Creative Corridor Center. Ridley is a young entrepreneur trying to grow his fledgling digital marketing company, Left Bank Creative.

Today, it is a growing company graduating with the first class of Creative Ventures, a program Left Bank Creative helped launch by creating its web presence.

"A lot of the work we did for the Detroit Creative Corridor Center got us noticed," says Ridley, founder of Left Bank Creative. "It has kind of snowballed. You do one thing that is great and gets a lot of reaction and people will want to do a lot of work with you."

Left Bank Creative specializes in creating an online presence and a marketing strategy. It is now working with the likes of Kresge Arts in Detroit, creating its website. It's also doing work with Team Detroit, the advertising arm of Ford. Left Bank Creative has doubled its core team to two people and spreads a lot of work out to other creatively inclined freelancers. Ridley is happy with the growth, but he still wants to keep his company a small boutique firm in the long term.

"(A year from now) I want to be doing exactly what I am doing right now, quite frankly," Ridley says.
