Model D TV: Slows
On
a strip of Michigan Avenue in Corktown, Slows Bar BQ
has become something of a phenomenon. Co-owner Phil Cooley tells the
restaurant’s story in this Model D TV installment from director Tom
Hendrickson.
A little over a year ago, a group of young Detroiters opened an “urban
barbecue” joint at Rosa Parks and Michigan Avenue in Corktown. It’s
been a huge hit.
In this installment of Model D TV, director/producer Tom
Hendrickson has Slows Bar BQ co-owner Phil Cooley tell the the restaurant’s story, in his own words.
The segment also features the music of Detroit’s own Blanche, who have a new EP, “What This Town Needs.” It’s available at local record shops and at amazon.com, or via iTunes.
