Detroit names federal building after Rosa Parks

A federal building in Detroit has been renamed in honor of Rosa Parks on the 50th anniversary of the civil rights pioneer’s historic refusal to give up her bus seat to a white man.

According to the story:

Federal officials renamed the three-story brick building the Rosa Parks Federal Building.

The building rededication is the highlight of many events scheduled across Michigan to commemorate Parks’ act of defiance on Dec. 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama.
