Just say No Wave: ‘Kill Your Idols’ doc explores influential noise rock pioneers

PJ's Lager House

Feb. 16, 2012, 10 p.m.

Featuring interviews with post-punk rock icons Jim Sclavunos and Lydia Lunch (Teenage Jesus & the Jerks), DNA’s Arto Lindsay, Glenn Branca and Sonic Youth, the documentary film Kill Your Idols artfully covers NYC’s No Wave movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

With live sounds after the film by Body Holographic and and SXUAL PRDATOR. A suggested donation of $5 at the door goes for opening costs of the Corktown Cinema.

Kill Your Idols screens at 10 p.m.

At PJs Lager House, 1254 Michigan Ave., in Detroit’s Corktown.
