Motor City's Jazz Fest to focus on New Orleans sounds

The 2006 Detroit International Jazz Festival will include 10 acts representing New Orleans and Gulf Coast jazz styles.

According to the story:

The 27th annual Labor Day weekend festival, held downtown, is one of the largest free jazz festivals in North America.

This will be the first year the festival is managed by the new $10-million nonprofit Detroit International Jazz Festival Foundation, which assumed control of the event late last year.
