The newly opened and newly renovated Book Cadillac is hoping to become an economic anchor for downtown.

Lots of people have been waiting for this hotel to open for a very
long time," Steinbaugh said. "We fully expect to become an economic
engine for the greater downtown area and for the additional development
we hope a project like this will attract to grow the economic base, as
more people want to live, work and play in the city."
Thirty
weddings and 150 black-tie, corporate and nonprofit events and
fund-raisers have been reserved through 2010. The hotel is booked solid
for the holidays with parties, black-tie and charity events at a time
when other venues are hurting for business.
