Construction on downtown Days Inn on East Jefferson nearly finished

Work on the major renovations at the Days Inn Downtown Detroit
on East Jefferson is nearly complete. The entire hotel is undergoing a
major face-lift, which is expected to be finished by the end of April.

The
hotel, 3250 E. Jefferson Ave., is receiving an extensive exterior and
interior renovation. A new brick façade has been added to the exterior,
changing the face of the building to a more traditional downtown-type
structure. The corridor and outdoor pool have also been enclosed. The
hotel is adding 20 new rooms to its current 60, along with meeting
facilities and an ice cream parlor for guests.

The only work
left to be done is finishing the renovation of the pool. The hotel,
built sometime in the 1950s, is still open for business during the
