Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Hosted by local shops Bureau of Urban Living and City Bird, this summer sidewalk sale was a bona fide hit last month, with hipsters and regular swarming inside the shops and on the street.

The event features handmade and vintage goods by local artists and vendors. This time, the Friday (Aug 20, 5-9 p.m.) event will stretch around the block to West Willis Village, where Avalon International Breads and its neighboring shops will offer extended hours, special deals, live music and street food.

Some highlights on Canfield include vintage clothing & accessories from Rachel’s Place in North Corktown; custom t-shirts from Goods, a new shop in Midtown opening this fall, Detroit photography by our own Marvin Shaouni of Model D, local brews from Traffic Jam & Snug and Motor City Brewing Works and organic popcorn by Popcorn Joe. Music by DJ Big Time America.

At West Willis Village, on Willis at Cass Avenue, Avalon International Breads, Goodwells Natural Foods Market, Flo Boutique, Tulani Rose, Source Booksellers, Dell Pryor Galleries, Textures by Nefertiti, Curl Up & Dye and Planned Parenthood welcome sale items, food and music by DJ Andre Royster of Sound Circle.
