New mural on Grand River brightens up Grandmont Rosesdale neighborhood

A lively mural commissioned by the Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation was unveiled on November 1. Located on the side of the GRDC’s new offices, it was painted by artist Barney Judge and will serve to welcome visitors to the neighborhood.

Excerpt:

“The essence of what they’re about is illustrated in a block party,”
the artist says of the Grandmont Rosedale communities in Northwest
Detroit. “People who live there are obviously very proud of their
neighborhoods, so you’ve got beautiful landscaping and houses that have
been there for a long time that are kept up. It’s something they value.
Why not celebrate it?”
