Trinosophes

May 11, 9 p.m.

Yet another “one of the best bands in the world you’ve never heard of” comes to Detroit, courtesy of the discerning programmers at Trinosophes.

Ulan Bator formed in France in 1995, and during the next two years hooked up with Krautrock pioneer Jean-Hervé Péron, who helped organize the first live collaboration between Ulan Bator and his band Faust.

In 2000, the full length Ego:Echo was released on Young God Records and produced by Michael Gira of Swans.

The band has added and subtracted members amd collaborators ever since, but remains a must-see.

Saturday, May 11. Doors 9 p.m. $7. Trinosophes is at 1464 Gratiot, in Eastern Market.
