If you’ve never been to Cafe Con Leche, you’re missing something special. Overlooking Clark Park in Southwest Detroit, the neighborhood coffee shop operated by Barcelona-born Jordi Carbonell has become a key intersection in Detroit’s leading multicultural neighborhood.
Vittoria Katanski, marketing director of the Southwest Detroit Business Association, thinks so, too. She says Cafe Con Leche’s move to the heart of Southwest from its original home in the Mexicantown Mercado is the start of a whole transformation of the district.
