European chic boutique debuts in financial district

A women’s clothing boutique, The Vogue, opened Dec. 14 at 719 Griswold in the Dime Building.

Rodney
Lynn, owner of The Vogue, was formerly a buyer for Barneys, and upscale
department store in Chicago. Lynn felt that Downtown Detroit lacked
funky clothing stores that provided apparel to an upscale professional
class, and wanted to help fill the void. He decided to open his own
store in Detroit because he “loves the challenge of up and coming
markets.”

Lynn classifies items sold at The Vogue as European chic couture
sold at moderate prices. He’s hired a buying house composed young hip
designers who search out up-and-coming designers in cities like Paris,
Milan and NYC.

The Vogue’s holiday hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
