Angels’ Night recruiting for volunteers begins

Volunteers from Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s office were out patrolling Campus Martius Park last week, recruiting Detroiters for Angels’ Night Oct. 30.

Excerpts from the story:

Over the last two decades efforts by the Young, Archer and Kilpatrick administrations have turned the traditional Devils’ Night into Angels’ Night – an opportunity for communities to come together to stop arson and crime throughout the city.

Last year, more than 56,000 volunteers from across metro Detroit patrolled neighborhoods, turned on porch lights, and safeguarded abandoned buildings.
