When people inquire at Ask Blanks! they normally end up speaking to Ken Harrell. Harrell is Blanks, a business consultant who specializes in marketing and improving businesses.
"It's a nickname that stuck," says Harrell, the chief marketing strategists for
Ask Blanks!. "Everybody always asks me stuff."
Harrell has done a number of jobs in is career, ranging from software engineer to restaurant manager to website development. He started Ask Blanks! as a marketing and business consultancy business 12 years ago. He turned it into his full-time job in 2006 and now manages a team of half a dozen people and is looking for interns this spring.
"There isn't one industry we focus on," Harrell says. "Our background is so diverse and so is our client base."
Ask Blanks!, based in downtown, today manages $500,000 worth of marketing budgets, including the budget for Chene Park. The company has also picked up a few more contracts over the last year, allowing it to add two more people to its team. One of those contracts includes teaching entrepreneurship classes in Pontiac.
