Despite some setbacks in the downtown condo market — 1001 Woodward and The Griswold come to mind — the rental market remains solid.

Merchants Row on Woodward north of State Street has kept occupancy at
90 percent for its 161 rental lofts, said Danny Samson, a vice
president with the Sterling Group, which owns the apartments.

“Rental demand downtown continues to be strong, and I believe condo demand will improve as well,” he said.
