Mercado seeks vendors in Mexicantown
Mexicantown Community Development Corp. is seeking vendor pre-applications for the Mercado — a collection of shops and businesses — now under construction near the International Welcome Center in Southwest Detroit.

The Mercado is to feature 84 businesses and employ nearly 200 offices and shops offering various products and services, including imported dry goods available only in Mexicantown, said Juan Gonzalez, real estate and development coordinator for the Mexicantown CDC.
Also included in the 45,000-square-foot Mercado will be a small-business incubator, he said.
