As students and teachers get ready to go back to school, let’s gather to talk about education in Detroit. We know the challenges; do we know what’s working? What programs are leading to greater academic success for Detroit’s children?
Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 29 at YouthVille, 7375 Woodward Ave. in Detroit’s New Center for a panel discussion moderated by Kary Moss, Executive Director of ACLU of Michigan. Panelists include Sharnita Johnson, Kellogg Foundation; Michael Brennan, United Way; Armen Hratchian, Excellent Schools Detroit; Michael Khoury, Cristo Rey High School; Amber Arellano, Education Trust-Midwest; and Stephan Quicksey, senior at Osborn Academy of Mathematics.
