On Wednesday, Oct. 29, Detroiters can step back into the Roaring 20s with a soulful, contemporary twist. Jazz duo Acute Inflections is bringing their Harlem Renaissance-inspired performance to Morenas Event Venue, offering a night where music, comedy, and culture collide.

Known for their mix of vintage glamour, soulful jazz, and playful comedy, the New York-based pair has been compared to icons like Billie Holiday and Erykah Badu. Their show blends the spirit of the Roaring 20s with a modern flair, offering an immersive experience for music lovers.

The performance takes place at Morenas, a Black woman-owned venue on the city’s west side that has become a cultural gathering space. Guests will enjoy complimentary wine and snacks while supporting a good cause: proceeds benefit the Renaissance Youth Center, which provides music education and after-school programs in the South Bronx.

For Detroit’s arts and culture community, the evening is both a celebration of history and a reminder of how music continues to connect generations.

Tickets are available at acuteinflections.com.
