Digerati’s growth set to spur 2 hires per month over next year

Digerati, a software firm based in the Guardian Building in downtown Detroit, is experiencing “substantial growth” thanks to a growing “national client base,” according to the 10-year-old firm’s CEO Brian Balasia.

Digerati, which employs 19 people and one independent contractor, has been taking on new clients looking for software design or consulting work. Balasia expects his firm to take on 3-4 new projects within the first four months of 2012, allowing the company to continue adding to its staff.

“For the foreseeable future we will be adding two people a month,” Balasia says.

Also growing inside the offices of Digerati is the MORE Program and Intern in Michigan Initiative. The MORE Program launched the pilot phase of its InsYght software program in June. InsYght promises to help connect businesses with the resources they need to grow in a fast and efficient manner. InsYght is set to leave its pilot phase by Thanksgiving and could go national sooner rather than later.

“It’s our expectation that within the next five years this will become a nationwide system,” Balasia says.

The 3-year-old Intern in Michigan Initiative is focusing on pairing college students with local employers for internships. That initiative is set to pair 25,000 students with as many paid internships per year as it continues to gain traction.
