Phase I of the Streetscape Enhancement Project had a dramatic impact on Orchestra Place, transforming what used to be a highly depressed section of Midtown Detroit. Phase I occurred in tandem with the creation of the Max M. Fisher Music Center and other major developments took shape as well, including the Ellington luxury lofts, built across from Orchestra Hall.
