Unique holiday shops pop up in Corktown

Pop ups are popping up left and right, East Side and West Side in Detroit these days.

This Thursday in Corktown, there are pop ups at Astro featuring Porktown Sausage, cakes, breads and gift baskets.

At Honor & Folly: see the debut of artist Cristin Richard’s new light fixture; cooking aprons and linens by Amy Bem; Japanese selvedge denim aprons and pouches by Benny Saginaw; ceramic dinnerware by Abigail Murray; wool blankets from a Michigan sheep farm; feather sculptures by Mïïgun Rotary; and also knives, cutting boards, knitted goods, and bags. Limited quantity of everything.

It runs 6-9 p.m., Dec. 13. Stick around afterwards for a Tom & Jerry at Sugar House or beers at LJs.
