“The city, the city, I like it in the city …

Ready for a roll-the-windows-down, Jefferson’-bumpin’ summer jam with a local shout-out? Last year, our go-to guy was Southfield’s own Mike Posner. But right now the buzz is all about his contemporary and friend Big Sean. “Hometown” steals a hook from vocal goddess Adele and lays it over shout-outs and mentions to every corner of Detroit. This video already has half a million views on YouTube, and is garnering serious buzz in national music blogs.

Sunset in my Rearview writes:

Mike and Sean were friends from home after working a summer job
together. They got along well, called themselves part of “Finally
Famous,” and ended up making music together. It seems they’ve gone in
different directions, but I’m still waiting for Mike and Sean to pair up
again and create some of the music that they made back in the day when
they were boys in Detroit.
