Out of every area in Detroit, why choose University Commons to settle
in? The amazing circa 1930 homes and the wide variety of architecture
stand out. There are Tudor brick, French stone chateaux, Spanish
stucco, pillared Georgian, and more.
But there’s more to the
neighborhood east of Livernois from McNichols to Seven Mile Road. It
also has easy access to the Woodward corridor and northern suburbs like
Ferndale, Royal Oak and Birmingham, but is still close to downtown.
Serene Palmer Park is another asset to this cluster of neighborhoods
that includes Green Acres, Palmer Woods, Sherwood Forest and University
District.

Plus, on Aug. 27, you can check out some of the gorgeous homes for
yourself and stroll through the walkable streets during the University
District Community Association’s home tour.
The tour runs from
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All Saints Episcopal Church on West Seven Mile Road
will also be open to visitors on the tour. Refreshments, music and
horse-drawn carriage rides will be available, as well.
Advance
tickets are $12.50. Call the University District Community Association
at 313-341-UDCA for more information. On the day of the tour, tickets
are $15.00. Tickets and guidebooks to the homes and gardens will be
available at Gesu Catholic School, Oak Drive at McNichols Road, and at
All Saints Episcopal Church, West Seven Mile Road at Birchcrest.
