Tweet of the Week: Paczki, bribes, and snow

Last week marked the beginning of Lent, which is the time of year when some people recommit to the New Year’s Resolution they already broke. To mark the occasion, the area celebrated with its own version of Mardi Gras: Paczki Day.

@LauraWitkowski was ready for a Miracle on Jos. Campau: Tomorrow is Paczki Day! Come to Hamtramck for REAL paczki! Every time you buy paczki at Kroger, a Polish angel cries. A lot.

It was well worth the trip if you got to see what @dorsey saw: Just saw Larry King’s doppleganger win a paczki-eating contest. And then eat 2 more paczki…

Obviously @katelynshelby could learn a thing or two from the doppelganger. : I feel like crap. But it’s my own fault. 4 paczki, a half a large pizza and cheese bread. I have an awful Fat Tuesday food baby… ugghh

Of course, paczki isn’t the only thing on the menu in Detroit, as @JenPassmore so eloquently put it: ” im from detroit where Coney Island is the 5th food group” *ha!

But it wasn’t all food over the past week. @gleseur was shocked to find out a little something about Detroit: SF and NYC are obvious, but Detroit too? RT @fastcompany: The Top 5 Cities for Green Jobs http://bit.ly/asxJeV

Then Detroit wasn’t all that shocked to find out a little more about Kwame, as FBI evidence may point to KK takin’ a few bribes. @MistaEnv had this to say: Da Feds want Kwame ass makin Detroit look like ten seasons of the wire #imjustsaying That’s Gangsta!

And then, of course, the snow. Almost as disappointing as the Lions.
