Downtown's R.U.B BBQ PUB expands into Warren, Ann Arbor

R.U.B BBQ PUB is expanding the reach of its barbeque chain restaurant across Metro Detroit and the downtown Detroit-based business has its eyes on even more locations.

Commonly known as Rub Pub, the business opened on West Adams Street just off Woodward Avenue about three years ago. Since then it has grown to a staff of 60 people in a sports bar atmosphere, establishing its trademak with 60 beers on tap (mostly craft brews with a emphasis on local brewers) and another 200 in bottles.

The company now employs about 150 people with another 90 new hires coming from two new locations in Ann Arbor and Warren.

"We're looking to grow rapidly," says Omar Mitchell, regional manager of R.U.B BBQ PUB. "The Yono family (owners of R.U.B BBQ PUB) is looking to add new locations right now."

Each location can seat in excess of 100 people and serves standard barbeque and offers a wide range of craft and local beers on tap and in the bottle. The company also works to use fresh, local ingredients in its food. The company also does a large amount of business with catering.

"We're a young company full of energy," Mitchell says. "We're looking for opportunities whether it's here or in San Diego."
