Rippld graduates from NewME, relaunches platform for creatives

Rippld is fresh off a start-up incubator graduation and is relaunching its online social platform for the creative class in Detroit.

The Midtown-based startup is developing an online network for creatively inclined professionals to collaborate, post portfolios and share jobs. It launched an alpha version of this platform last year and has recently relaunched a more comprehensive version as a private Beta this spring. The new version will have a screen mechanism and functions that will allow for team building and collaboration.

"People and companies can add to their teams through our system," says Adrian Walker, CEO of Rippld.

Rippld graduated from the Detroit Creative Corridor Center incubator last year as it was developing the initial versions of its platform. It also recently graduated from the NewME Accelerator in San Francisco, the second Detroit-based startup to make it through the accelerator's four-month program.

"It helped us hone in and get better at what we're doing," Walker says. "It helped us with out private-Beta release a couple of weeks ago."

Rippld is composed of a team of four people. Walker expects to add another two or three people before the end of the summer as he works to complete a $500,000 angel fund round before the end of the year.

"We're excited," Walker says. "It's very positive right now with the momentum we have."
