Quicken Loans is hiring again. This time the mortgage/tech company is bringing on 1,000 new people this summer and most of them will be coming to downtown Detroit.
"A lot of those jobs are in technology, mortgage banking and mortgage operations," says Michelle Salvatore, director of recruiting for
Quicken Loans.
The downtown Detroit-based company held a job fair last weekend that attracted 2,000 applicants. The company opened the job fair up to veterans an hour early, processing 200 interested parties.
"We extended 35 offers that day," Salvatore says.
The 1,000 new jobs are for Quicken Loans positions specifically. Salvatore expects her company to fill those positions by the end of July. Those jobs don't include positions in any of the Quicken Loans family of companies, which are also hiring. Salvatore says
Title Source, which is based in Troy but set to move to downtown Detroit later this year, expects to hire 300 people this year.
