Dan Gilbert continues to double-down on downtown Detroit now that his primary business, Quicken Loans, plans to hire 500 new people, primarily in the city's center.
Quicken Loans currently has 1,700 of its 4,000 employees in its corporate headquarters in the Compuware Building. It plans to move another 2,000 into the Chase Building (it looks like a giant cheese grater) on the other side of Campus Martius later this fall. A vast majority of these 500 new jobs will be based in downtown Detroit on top of the 3,700 employees working or moving to downtown.
Quicken Loans it looking to hire a broad range of professionals for its latest hiring binge. Those jobs include areas like technology, marketing, mortgage banking. No prior experience required.
"Basically, they run the gamut," says Michelle Salvatore, director of recruiting for Quicken Loans.
Quicken Loans will host a job fair between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at its headquarters in the Compuware Building. Parking is available at the Compuware garage located on Farmer St. between Gratiot Avenue and Monroe St. Parking stubs will be validated. For more information on these openings, click
