Metro-West Appraisal Co plans to execute the move of its headquarters from Northville to downtown Detroit next month, an investment that will bring another 40 jobs to the Motor City.
"We want to be a leader and get our office here now," says Brandon Boudreau, chief operating officer of
Metro-West Appraisal Co. "We didn't want to move down here after the fact."
The residential real estate appraisal firm is moving into an 8,000-square-foot office in the Chrysler House near Campus Martius. The company employs 205 employees and 15 interns. The 40 employees and three interns moving downtown are the company's management team. The firm plans to hire another 35 people for its downtown office in the near future.
Boudreau explains the company is attracted to the Central Business District's recent momentum of building commercial investment. He wants Metro-West Appraisal Co to be a part of that momentum.
"Everyday you read about more companies coming downtown," Boudreau says. "I would like to see that continue."
