Franco Public Relations Group is expanding its business and not necessarily but adding more businesses, but nonprofits.
The downtown Detroit-based public relations agency has added a number of local nonprofits to its client list this year. Those include the Detroit Historical Society and the Salvation Army's southeastern Michigan branch.
"It's really picked up in the last six months," says Michelle Zdrodowski, a senior vice president at
Franco Public Relations Group. "We not only understand PR but the community. That's what nonprofits are interested in."
Franco Public Relations Group is 47 years old and preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday in 2014. It has called the Renaissance Center home since the skyscraper opened in the 1980s. The company employs 15 people, two interns and a large stable of independent contractors. It recently hired an account manager and account executive and plans to continue growing.
"As we keep this momentum going we want to be ready to bring on more people," Zdrodowski says.
