The people at FNC see a few parallels between what their company is trying to do in Oxford, Mississippi, and what the team at Quicken Loans is working toward in downtown Detroit.
Linda Peal, director of Marketing for
FNC, likes to point out that her real-estate IT company is active in improving the city center of its hometown, working on parks and open spaces on top of creating jobs. She compares it the efforts of Dan Gilbert, chairman of Quicken Loans, to create a resurgence in downtown Detroit. In fact Quicken Loans and downtown Detroit are the two main reasons why FNC is opening an office in the Motor City.
"We want to play a role in the revitalization of one of America's great cities," Peal says. "We also want to be close to one of our largest clients."
FNC specializes in real estate information technology that ensures compliance and streamlines workflow for major mortgage leaders, servicers, and community and regional banks. It counts Quicken Loans and Title Source, also owned by Gilbert, as two of its biggest clients. FNC will open a two-person office in the Chrysler House next month, which Peal hopes will grow in the near future.
"We certainly want to have a presence in Detroit as time goes on," Peal says.
The Chrysler House was formerly known as the Dime Building until this spring when Gilbert changed the name after recruiting Chrysler to open a large office in the building. The 23-story structure is located at 719 Griswold St, one block west of Campus Martius.
