Slow Roll cyclists meet at Woodbridge Tavern for first spring ride

Woodbridge Tavern

April 8, 7-10 p.m.

Slow Roll is back for another year of, um, slow rolling through the streets of Detroit. This season the group will be starting and ending at a different bar or restaurant each time in order to showcase Detroit establishments. All will have ample bike parking and food and drinks specials prepared for Slow Roll riders.

The first week, the starting point is the group’s home spot, the Woodbridge Pub. They meet at 7 p.m. and leave around 7:30 p.m., returning around 9:30 p.m. for DJ sets by Erno the Inferno and Eastside Jon.

Wearing a helmet is strongly suggested, as is a light kit, extra tubes, a patch kit and minor tools. Sweepers will be on hand to assist but they are not equipped to do major fixes.

It’s free and you’re invited. Woodbridge Pub is at 5169 Trumbull, Detroit.
