Compuware held its second annual tech conference Oct. 6, drawing a crowd of 1,200.
It reads like something out of an old Western. The first settlers were familiar with the land, but once they struck gold, so to speak, with Detroit development, out-of-state pioneers came in and staked their claims. From Miami, New York, Chicago and Indianapolis, they’ve come to the Motor City with cash to invest and visions of profits as they build condos, lofts and apartments in a market ever ripening for redevelopment.
Sue Mosey believes metro Detroit deserves a major city at its core, and she’s worked for decades to strengthen Detroit. Her piece of the puzzle is Midtown – helming the nonprofit that’s helped tie together the loose ends of the university, cultural center and hospital district into an emerging, invigorated neighborhood.
Detroit’s riverfront will be home to a new $5 million complex called Asian Village that will serve as a local and regional draw.
