New grants available for Michigan’s Black leaders and nonprofits advancing racial justice efforts

“Ultimately, we can’t achieve our organization’s mission without addressing systemic racism, racial justice, and racial equity in Michigan,” says Trista Van Tine, Executive Director and Co-founder of Michigan Founders Fund.

The exhibition tells the story of Black landscape architects with connections to Michigan, reaching back as far as the 1800s and up to and including Black landscape architects that are working in Detroit and Michigan today.

Marygrove’s senior class steps into the spotlight

All eyes are on the first senior class at Marygrove High School this year, and the students are taking it in stride. “It means a lot to be the first graduating class because we are role models, we can set bars for the little ones to surpass by the time they graduate,” says senior Jalisa Smith.
