Fine wining: New downtown biz hosts tasting party with music, food, friends, fun
Dec. 18, 6-9 p.m.
The holidays are here and all we can think of is what to do while we swirl, sniff and sip delicious wine. Watching reruns of Desperate Housewives? Hosting a dinner party featuring that incredible mac ‘n’ cheese recipe from Michael Symon? Listening to the new house/techno/soul/funk compilation put out by Detroit’s Arron-Carl? More wine, we say!
Whatever your needs in reds and whites for the end of the year, downtown’s Motor City Wine is sure to meet your needs. Not been there yet, you say? Then check out this Friday’s (Dec. 19) wine tasting party, spotlighting big reds and sexy sparklers. Hors d’oeuvres, artisan cheeses and charcuterie are part of the package.
The tasting event will run 6-9 p.m. After 9 p.m., the music will crank up and MCW will remain open until midnight, with glasses and bottles available to keep the evening going. Most bottles are priced under $15 and the selection is stellar.
This is a limited space event, tickets purchased in advance are encouraged for guaranteed attendance. Cover is $20 and includes 20 wines available for tasting. There is no cover after 9 p.m. To purchase tickets, go here.
Motor City Wine is at 608 Woodward Avenue, Suite 200 (south of Campus Martius, north of Congress St.), in downtown Detroit.
