Kraemer Design Group to relocate to Opera House Retail Center

Kraemer Design Group, having outgrown its Grand River offices, will take occupancy of the second floor of the Opera House Retail Center on April 1. The space is approximately 10,000 square feet.

Although
KDG studied the idea of renovating their current space, they decided
that having room to grow was in their best interest. As architects,
they were particularly choosy before settling on one particular space.
“We were picky in the sense that we knew
exactly what we wanted: space that was unique,” says principal Robert
Kraemer. “We were not interested in just being a tenant in a high rise.”

The
office they finally settled on had several things going for it besides
its size. Its location is convenient to restaurants, the YMCA and a
Detroit People Mover station. “It is an attractive building,” says
Kraemer. “And because we are the first tenant, we were able to
completely design the way we wanted on the inside.”

Recent KDG design work includes the Watermark and Griswold
as well as Google’s offices in Ann Arbor and
Birmingham. The firm currently employs 19, but the new offices can accommodate up to 30.
