Under the Poppy presents Puppets & Passion is a mysterious, immersive event based on an award-winning novel by Kathe Koja, who readers may recall ruled the regional horror genre scene in the 1990s (anyone remember The Cipher or Skin?).

On this night expect a performance filled with love and darkness, actors and puppets, film and music, set in a louche Victorian brothel on the eve of war. Say no more. We’re there.

This event is free with regular admission to the Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200 Woodward Ave., in Midtown’s Cultural Center.
