Though Detroit's fifth annual Winterblast had to cut back a bit, the event is still expected to be a big draw and a big hit.

"This year, based on the economy, we have to do some major
downscaling," said Jonathan Witz, producer of "Winter Blast". "But we
can still deliver a great show."
Ice skating exhibitions, a new "ice slide," musical acts, ice
sculptures and a family fun zone are among the offerings from Feb. 6-8
in and around Campus Martius Park.
The event first made a big splash during Superbowl weekend in 2006, when a million people showed up for the festivities.
This year, about 200,000 people are expected to attend, Witz said.
