West Side brownfield planned for plaza development

The Detroit Brownfield Redevelopment Authority is working on plans for a $6 million, 61,000-square-foot retail center on the West Side. The center, which is looking to retain a department store, is on the 6100 block of McGraw, near the intersection of Livernois and Warren.

Known as Metro Plaza, the project would feature a 45,000-square-foot grocery store, a beauty supply store and several other retailers. Developers are negotiating for a T.J. Maxx store although that is not final yet.
